This training supplies the tools needed to describe and apply the workflow for dynamic analysis in FLAC3D, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of each step involved, including model setup, boundary conditions, input signal application, and damping, to effectively analyze dynamic behavior in geotechnical simulations.
In addition to hydroelectric dams, Itasca has worked on hydroelectric power plants including a pumped storage plant in Israel (Gavet) and hydropower stations in China (Baihetan, JinPing), India, and Colombia (Guavio and Sogamoso). Engineering analyses include site characterization, review of in-situ stress measurements, ground support evaluation and recommendation, excavation stability of large caverns during prefeasibility and construction, and underground facility layout design, including surge chamber geometry.
