A braced excavation is constructed in saturated ground. The construction stages, dewatering, excavation and braced support construction are simulated with FLAC. The purpose is to evaluate the deformation of the ground adjacent to the excavation and the performance of the wall and strut support. Three different material constitutive models are used to represent the soil behavior: Mohr-Coulomb, Cysoil, and PH models. The deformational response produced by these three models are compared.
